Lemon Law

Monday, March 31st, 2008

By Michelle Magne What is Lemon Law? The Lemon Law was made to protect consumers who purchased a new vehicle that unfortunately turns out to be defective in some ways. For reasons lost to antiquity, defective cars are known as lemons. Consumers all over the country may now seek either a replacement vehicle or a refund should they find themselves the owner of a defective automobile. Even though legislation exists to protect you if you should find yourself the owner of a lemon, most people are not familiar with their state’s. . If you feel that you are in need of good lemon law advice then it is advisable that you contact a lawyer who specializes in lemon law cases. Follow lemon law information on this site. Every state has different lemon laws in place in regards to new car purchases that suffer from a significant number of defects, or repeat defects that the dealer is not able to repair. Lemon Laws can also extend to Consumer Goods such as Computers, Lemon Truck and Lemon Car. If your car, truck or computer is a lemon, you may be entitled to receiving your money back, a cash settlement, or a replacement. Be sure to check with an appropriate attorney if you believe your case fits lemon law for proper protection of your rights. Guidelines to Declare your Vehicle as Lemon:Here are some guidelines for knowing whether or not your car is a lemon:A motor vehicle may be declared a lemon if it meets all of the following lemon law conditions: - The vehicle has a serious defect or abnormal condition. - The defect or condition is covered by a manufacturer’s written warranty. - The owner reports the defect or condition to the dealer or manufacturer within the warranty term. - The owner gives the dealer or manufacturer a reasonable number of attempts to repair the defect or condition. - The owner gives the manufacturer (preferably by certified mail) written notice of the defect and at least one opportunity for repair. - The defect or condition persists and substantially impairs the vehicle’s use or market value, or creates a serious safety hazard. - The owner files a timely lemon law complaint and pays the filing fee. If all of these criteria are met, the Lemon Law “presumes” during the first 18 months/18,000 miles (whichever comes first) that the buyer or lessee is entitled to a replacement vehicle or a refund. However, a replacement or refund may not be automatic since the manufacturer is entitled to prove that no problem exists, that a reasonable number of repair attempts have not been made, or that the problem does not substantially impair the vehicle’s use, value or safety. This is predicated upon the consumer’s decision to utilize the manufacturer’s arbitration program, which they are not required to do unless they decide to pursue the “presumption” rule. Even if the vehicle does not fit the 18 month/18,000 mile “presumption” criteria, consumers may still be entitled to a buy back if the vehicle has been subject to a reasonable number of repair attempts ANY TIME during the entire New Vehicle Limited Warranty period, which is typically 3 years/36,000 miles, or 4 years/50,000 miles, depending on the manufacturer.Read more about information on guidelines. Attorney: There are many types of attorneys who specialize in things such as maritime attorney, tax attorney, to name a few. Make sure that you find the attorney with the right qualifications to represent your legal position. If you decide to sue, an attorney will almost certainly be necessary. Many states will allow you to collect attorney fees in a lemon law-related lawsuit. Should you find yourself the owner of a defective automobile, you can certainly file a lemon law claim yourself, but many people will find that the process goes more smoothly with the aid of an attorney who is experienced in lemon law cases. If you think your car is a lemon and you might need to file a claim under your state’s Lemon Law, you should first check with your state’s Website, or contact your state’s Attorney General’s office. While you may represent yourself during the arbitration process, you may feel more comfortable hiring an attorney. There are many attorneys who specialize in lemon law cases, and they may be able to expedite the process. The presence of an attorney may also make you feel more comfortable if you have little or no experience with this sort of procedure. If the of the arbitration panel does not rule in your favor, or if your state allows you to opt out of arbitration by choice, you may elect to sue the manufacturer yourself. This is often a last resort, as arbitration is often a simpler and faster alternative to lawsuits involving auto Lemon Law claims. Troubleshooting Your Job Search

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

By Kevin Donlin OK. You’ve posted your resume online. You’ve sent out a dozen copies answering classified ads. You’ve told everyone in your network that you’re looking for a job. And nothing has happened. Now what? Since 1996, I’ve written/edited resumes for nearly 3,000 clients and refunded less than 3% of them for lack of results. Based on this experience, here are four ways for you to troubleshoot — and improve — an unsuccessful job search. 1) Is your resume focused? Your resume can’t be all things to all people. Make sure yours has one main focus, such as sales or computer programming. Every word in your resume should contribute to that single focus you’ve chosen. If you try to go in too many directions, your resume won’t appeal to anyone. 2) Is your resume error-free? You’ve heard this 100 times, so let’s make it 101 — a single typo can ruin your resume. But that’s only partially true. Because even more things can go wrong. When proofreading your resume, you should also check for errors in spacing between words, inconsistent abbreviations, poor layout, tiny fonts and extreme length/wordiness. Example: inconsistent spacing is a frequent gaffe. It doesn’t matter if you use one space or two after periods, but be consistent throughout. Otherwise, your resume will look unprofessional. 3) Is your cover letter hard-hitting? According to the Wall Street Journal’s National Business Employment Weekly, “Your cover letter can make or break whether your resume goes into the ‘yes’ pile or the ‘no’ pile. A really terrific cover letter can change the reader’s mind.” Use your cover letter to show off your knowledge of the company and the industry. And be sure to convey your enthusiasm for the job — enthusiasm sells. But be concise! Nothing longer than 4-5 paragraphs or one page will work well. 4) Is your job search a full-time job? In this job market, the quest for employment takes time and effort. Think of finding work as a job in itself, requiring nothing less than your total dedication. So, ask yourself: “Am I really using all my available resources? Am I spending at least 4-8 hours and doing at least 10 things every day to find the right job?” For example, make sure you use — really use — your college placement office. Most students and graduates never visit theirs, according to my experience. Now go out and make your own luck! Kevin Donlin is President of Guaranteed Resumes. Since 1996, he and his team have provided resumes, cover letters and online job-search assistance to clients in all 50 states and 23 countries. Exercise and Weight Loss for Life - The Magic Formula Doctor’s DON’T Want You to Know!

Friday, March 28th, 2008

By Greg Ryan In twenty years of consistant exercising, maintaining a low percentage of body fat and working with thousands of successful stories in weight loss, here are three of the best attitudes to use for a weight loss and exercise program for the rest of your life. ATTITUDE #1: ITS NOT ABOUT THE NUMBERS! The health clubs are always racking their brains trying to figure out why they have such a hard time keeping members coming back. Most owners would argue that cash flow and profit margins are the most important reason to retain membership. Yes, but what drives customers to these health clubs? These owners have lost touch with what matters most, the customer! Give the customer more than they expect and they will continue to do business with you. Selling a product or service is about people more so than numbers on a spreadsheet. SINK HOLES VS. POTHOLES I want you to think of this principle in your workout. You know it is very easy to get burdened down with all the details of an exercise and diet program. While guidelines are necessary, at times focusing too much on the numbers can and will set you up for failure. You may start to think all this counting calories, reps, and keeping track of heart rates are too much to accomplish. Unexpectedly, you start to lose sight of your goals and it becomes more of a job than a hobby or stress release. You may even quit exercising. This can be an immediate sinkhole for you. It would be unrealistic to think you are not going to have some tough days. Its hard getting in shape. It takes determination and discipline. More importantly, it takes looking over those down days to the end goal. Do not get too worked up about hitting all the numbers on the charts all the time. ATTITUDE #2: ITS BEING SOLD OUT! The only way you will follow through on an exercise program is to be sold out. The military calls them lifers. These are people who are committed to something for the long haul. Are you a lifer? Could you be a lifer? A lifer has a sold out mindset. He or she realizes that there will be potholes to go through; there may even be a sinkhole up ahead, but they get through it or they go around the situation. It may take support from others, but it gets done. You may not be a lifer today, but you could be if you dont make changes now! DECISION MAKING I was named Mr. Michigan in the statewide bodybuilding contest in 1988. When I competed in bodybuilding contests, it took me a good month to decide if I really wanted to go for that particular goal. The decision process was well thought out. I realized the days ahead would bring doubt, frustration, pain, and at times, humility. There is a sense of relief that comes with making a decision. Perhaps because once that decision is made, all the pressure is off. BEING SOLD OUT IS AN ATTITUDE OF THE HEART! PERSEVERANCEHaving a sold out attitude helps you persevere through some of the down times. There were a lot of times I just wanted to quit. But I always remembered that I had made a decision to stay in it for the long haul. My workouts did not have to be perfect all the time, as long as I kept moving forward. I just had to persevere, no matter what! So I did. SELF- MOTIVATIONA small part of all of us needs to be self- motivated. You cannot do it alone. You will always need a good support system; however, somewhere inside a little self- motivation needs to be smoldering to keep the fire going. SELF DISCIPLINEDHaving self-discipline is different than being self-motivated. You can be motivated, but not disciplined. However, you cannot be disciplined without being motivated. No one will or can exercise for you. Nor can they tell you what to eat for the rest of your life. Being self-disciplined requires you to consistently keep the main goal in mind. ATTITUDE #3: ITS THE BIG PICTURE Each of you is different. You will put into exercise a certain amount of effort and everyone will get something different from it. You cannot just package good intentions and say, If you do this or if you buy that, you will receive this in return. It just doesnt work that way. In a nut shell: While guidelines are needed, try not to get bogged down with the details. Make a decision to make exercise and eating right a priority in your life, even if it is not up to your expectations. Exercise and better eating will give back a very fulfilling life. But you have to keep your eye on the ball. Speed bumps and potholes will always be there in season. The process of avoiding them can be a lot more fun than you can imagine. Skilled Mechanic Wage Study Review

Monday, March 24th, 2008

By Lance Winslow Well what is a good mechanic worth these days? You cannot place a value on them simply as labor units as they teach in management school, they are worth more than money. So why not treat them with respect and dignity and pay them what they are worth, we believe that the national averages are too low. There is a partial report on the Automotive and Trucking Sector from the Fed’s Beige Book, June 2002. I do not concur with all these numbers, but this is an average and a good indication of some since of reality. Certainly the numbers are incorrect for North Eastern US, Houston, Dallas, Denver, LA, PHX, Seattle, Atlanta, Detroit, and Minneapolis. The report states that Government Mechanics for Diesel Engines average wage is $17.93 per hour, auto $16.90. For parts companies where knowledge is key since parts are parts is $15.48 diesel, $16.87 auto. Repair Stations Diesel $14.74, auto repair shops $12.35. Trucking and Delivery $14.50 diesel, auto $12.15. School Districts averages $14.60, auto $11.80, great? Our most precious commodity and the future of this nation, our kids? The low end of the mechanic scale is schools? Ouch. Well the Oil Change Quick Lube is even less. Labor to start at Jiffy Lube is $6.75 in some locations. We can guarantee you if you want to reduce turnover at your Oil Change Facility, you will have to pay more than that. Some oil change companies claim a 60% turnover per year, which is only a tad better than a fast food restaurant. Even at ten dollars per hour in suburban areas, you are barely getting by for the quality help your customers deserve. Think about it. “Lance Winslow” - Online Think Tank forum board. Green Tea The Natural Way To Lose Weight

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

By Tracy Taylor Green Tea has now become a popular way to lose weight. Green tea, besides being a typical beverage around the world, provides numerous health benefits in addition to its weight loss properties. The best green tea has lots of advantages; there are no additives or preservatives in this product. The best green tea might be able to help boost your immune system and also enhance other capacities in your life Many people have discovered that green tea is a powerful weapon to fight fats and obesity, including celebrities like Oprah. It also helped to aid weight loss by increasing the metabolic rate, causing those who use it to burn more calories. Green tea is one of the only, all natural fat burning products that can selectively increase fat oxidation without jitters and mood swings, increased heart rate, heart palpitations, and other similar side effects associated with Ma-Haung, (ephedrine). This makes Green Tea perfect for individuals wishing to remove stimulants from their diets. Believe it or not, more and more often you’ll find green tea included in the compilations of many of the more popular weight loss supplements today. Many would say it’s definitely helpful, but not earth-shatteringly effective. It’s no “magic pill” I guess you could say. Proper diet and an effective exercise program will be the key to wringing the most out of green tea. Green tea becomes an active ingredient in many weight loss products. When health benefit varieties of green tea are listed, weight loss is not usually first on the list. As research published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, “Consumption of green tea produced thermogenesis and increased energy expenditure and fat oxidation” in humans. Green tea, as an active ingredient used in many of the top weight loss products when weight loss products claim they contain natural ingredients, green tea is almost always in the list. The benefits of green tea can be had by drinking freshly brewed tea, or through supplements. Either way is rather inexpensive compared to other health and diet products so why not give green tea a try. I have made a site that is all about green tea http://enjoygreentea.com. There is also a blog that I will be posting to here http://www.enjoygreentea.com/greenteablog. Healing the Great Divide

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

By William Frank Diedrich There are no short cuts to healing the divisions we see in this world. We have a diversity of viewpoints and perspectives. The illusion is that we must somehow convince others of our viewpoint. If we could only convince others that we are right then all would be well. This goal is unattainable. A more attainable goal would be to accept others as they are and to release the need to fix or change them. Do this and your influence with others will increase. A line from A Course In Miracles states: “I could choose peace instead of this.” When I find myself frustrated with someone else’s view of the world I remember this line. I need not convince anyone of anything. Who I am is much more convincing than what I say. It is easy to see the inconsistencies in many of the prevailing viewpoints of today. Many evangelistic Christians are horrified at abortion but think capital punishment and preemptive attacks on other countries are acceptable. Other “spiritual” people are horrified at the destruction of war but think abortion is acceptable. Both see themselves as valuing life and offering a spiritual perspective. Both see themselves as right. We attack each other’s inconsistencies yet fail to acknowledge our own. Inconsistency doesn’t make a viewpoint invalid. Nearly all of us are inconsistent and selectively indignant about what we see as unacceptable. Rather than defending and rationalizing our inconsistencies we could be examining them. The examination needs to come from a place of nonjudgment. As I question my own views on abortion or on war, I need not feel guilty for my point of view. If I participated in war or abortion, I need not feel guilt about it. My participation gives me an up close opportunity to learn and grow. Let’s say that I come to realize that I value life too much to support either of these activities. Having come to this conclusion, is it now my job to convince everyone else? Is it my role to to make sure everyone else feels the way I do? Should I try to make people guilty for what they do? Should I quote scripture and go on a campaign against war and abortion? My thought on this is a definite “No!” I realize that people reading this might be thinking: “War and abortion–there is no comparison here.” Some would see abortion as absolutely horrible but war is a reality of life. Others will see war as absolutely horrible but abortion is a woman’s choice. If you are thinking one way of the other, I invite you to explore the space in between the polarities. I invite you to rise up above the polarities and see the big picture. I invite you to ask someone who feels differently from you to explain why they feel the way they do, and that you would listen with the goal of completely and compassionately understanding that person. Does this mean we should not express our opinions? We are free to express our opinions. The deeper questions are: “What is the goal when we express an opinion? How am I seeing this other person when I express my viewpoint? Is it my intention to create healing or is it to dominate the situation with my viewpoint?” Beneath all of our viewpoints and perspectives is something much deeper and profound. There is something much more important than what I believe. People may be impacted by my opinion, but they are more deeply impacted by who I am and how I see them. Do I think I am smarter, more moral, and more spiritual? Do I see this person as stupid, evil, or misled? If so, than I am disconnecting myself from this person. I cannot influence and I cannot heal from a place of disconnection. We may be arguing about war or abortion, but the more serious issue is the rift between us. It is the disconnection we create by convincing ourselves that because we differ on an issue, that we are separate. In my mind I may divide the world into the red states and the blue states, the right wing and the left wing, the new agers and the fundamentalists, or the people who get it and the people who don’t get it. What have I accomplished? In dividing up my world am I a healing presence to myself and others? Life is a process. We are all in process, learning as best we can. I am connected to you because we both have emerged from the same source. We are both learning to express and find joy, each in our own way. I offer you respect and love, but it may not always be gentle. I may call you on your inconsistencies, your judgments, or your behavior because that is what is in the highest interests for all concerned. At the same time, I am willing to be called for my own inconsistencies. I want you to expose my inconsistencies so that I can heal them. Clubbing people over the head with your opinion, no matter how holy you think it is, usually drives them away. Taking the time to understand another, and to see them as human, draws them closer to you. By honoring your connection you increase the possibility that another may agree with you. You also increase the possibility that you may find agreement in some of what they say. More importantly, you heal the illusory divide that has been created by your differences. This builds trust and respect, and opens the door to future dialogue. If you truly are for peace and for life then offer the gifts of peace and life to everyone. Allow yourself to exude life, to radiate peace, and to express deep respect for everyone. In every interaction, your sense of connection allows you to teach and to be taught. In offering peace and well-being to everyone you will cross the great divide into a new and more joyful world. Career Job Satisfaction - Get Off the Treadmill - Exit Your Rat Race!

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

By Megan Tough Get Off the Treadmill - Exit Your Rat Race! We can all get in a rut from time to time. Who hasnt had a moment in their lives where youve asked yourself the question: Why am I doing this? Whether it’s who you’ve become, the business you are in, your career, relationships, where you live or all of the above - sometimes you realise you’re just not where you want to be and youre not sure how you got there! It sure feels like your own version of a rat race though. If where you want to be in your life is not where you are, then maybe it’s time for you to drop out of your very own rat race. We are conditioned into believing that we must continue to strive, to take more on, and to do more, in order to be successful. But this is a limited and ultimately self-defeating definition. If we can only be more successful by what and how much we do, then we have created our own treadmills to run on. 1. Redefine SuccessRedefining success for yourself can be the first step in taking a fresh perspective. Try this exercise by completing the following sentence. I know I am successful when. You may not complete the sentence with anything to do with work or material goods. Here are some examples. I know I am successful when.I laugh every day with my childrenI bounce out of bed enthusiastically every morning all of my relationships give me great joyI inspire others to make positive changes By redefining what we believe makes us successful, we begin to strive for different things in our lives. This can be instrumental in slowing down the treadmill enough for us to take stock of where we are. 2. Springclean your mindIf you feel as though you dont have time for anything, especially thinking about ways to do things differently, its time for a time-out. When we are busy and occupied all the time, we are usually reacting to things going on around us, rather than acting out of choice. So make an active choice to take a rest, a vacation, talk it out with someone you trust, blow off steam, do whatever it takes to get some perspective about your situation. Just this simple step will make you feel more in control, and can help to streamline the energy you’ll need for the changes ahead. The idea is not to just get out of your rat race but to go towards a more fulfilling way of living 3. Get realThe reality is that you cant change anyone elses behaviour but your own. So its a good time to stop wishing that people would act differently so that you could feel better. Also, its time to make alternative plans just in case you don’t win the lottery or get a salary increase. This sounds harsh, but people who wait for things to happen to them are usually waiting a long time. Don’t wait for chance or fate to step in. Figure out what it will cost (in time, energy, money, etc.) to make the changes you know you need to make. Then figure out what it will cost not to. 4. Pack lightTheres something very cathartic about taking time to clean things out getting rid of the old to make way for the new. You could start with a room in your house, your email address list, or old beliefs that arent adding value to you any more. In every situation there is a good lesson to take with you, something of value to keep. Even if it’s only, ‘Well that’s a place I know I never want to be again’; there is something worth keeping. Any situation, and your perception of it, is part of who you are. Identify specifically what it is you want to keep and what you’ll leave behind. Be brutal. You may even miss some of the things you choose to leave behind thats all part of the process. What you will find is renewed energy for new things that you want to include in your life a great start to exiting your rat race and beginning on a new journey. 5. Create a mapWhen was the last time you thought about where you wanted to be in 5 or 10 years time? We get so caught up in doing things - for the business, for work, for others things we think we should be doing, that we take no time to consider what we really want. Forget the race. Think journey. Take the time to think about yourself, and where you would like to be. Nobody elses map will do here its time to do some hard thinking for yourself. What are the core values that you’d like to base your life around? What do you love to do or to be? What gives you a sense of purpose? What do you stand for? What could you not be dissuaded from believing in, no matter what? If you had one life to live this time round what would you do with it? These are tough questions and their answers are part of the journey. Don’t freak or feel guilty if you don’t know the answers straight away. For the impatient and perfectionist people reading, this is not a test there is no pass or fail. So dont treat it like one. The more you know about yourself, the more you will be able to start drawing your own map. 6. Head for the Life! (not the lifestyle)Do you know what the difference is between having a life and maintaining a lifestyle? A lifestyle is something we are told we need by society, advertisers, and parents. Life’s luxuries, although nice to have, can be expensive financially and in the energy spent getting them. Perhaps the energy spent maintaining a lifestyle might be better used turning your life into an expression of who you are. A lifestyle buys comfort. A life buys satisfaction and contentment. The best bed in the world only makes for a comfortable sleepless night if you lack contentment. If your lifestyle impedes you being who you are then dump it. 7. Go for your idealIf it turns out that you drop out of your rat race and into your perfect life, would you even know it? Create a vision of where it would be, who you’re with, what you’re doing. Design it around your passions, beliefs, values and loves. Remember, just like spending your money, if you don’t know what you want from your life there’s plenty of people around who will be only too glad to tell you. 8. Look out for the rough bits.Choosing to live your life in your own way is tougher than staying in your rat race. People you know may be understanding or incredulous, and wont hesitate to give you their opinion. Temptations will abound to take a few laps round the old racecourse when the going gets tough. Our old comfort zones are traps waiting to lure us back into our old ways. By being aware of this and planning for how you’ll cope you will get through. Anything different can be scary. But it can also be fun too! 9. Enjoy the trip! You’ve recognised where you don’t want to be any longer and identified where you do. Now live where you are. Learn from the past and move on. Plan for the future but live in the present. You cant do anything about yesterday, so stop worrying about it. If you spend every minute think about tomorrow then youll never enjoy today. And that’s where all the action is! 10. Go for it.No more excuses. Nothing more to say. Just do it. Sometimes the only way to win a race - where there can be no winner - is to just stop running. Megan Tough, Director of Action Plus, is passionate about helping people enjoy their businesses. She works internationally with business owners to systematically remove the stress points from their business, giving them more time and space for - well -whatever they want! A Southern California Wedding in San Juan Capistrano

Monday, March 17th, 2008

By Shari Hearn Thinking of a Southern California destination wedding? There are certainly many cities and locations from which to choose: Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Juan Capistrano. Wait, you dont know about San Juan Capistrano? Situated halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego, San Juan Capistrano is a perfect place to get married or elope. That is, if perfect to you means beautiful sunsets and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. San Juan Capistrano is a quaint, laid-back beach community loaded with history, boasting, among things, the oldest neighborhood in California, dating from the late 1700s to early 1800s, as well as the Mission San Juan Capistrano, founded more than 200 years ago. But, what most couples come for are the beautiful beaches and sunsets in San Juan Capistrano and nearby Dana Point and San Clemente. Here is a sprinkling of the venues in San Juan Capistrano which will make your wedding memorable: San Juan Capistrano Mission Inn Hotel Conveniently located within walking distance of the Amtrak and Metrolink train depot, and adjacent to the historic Mission San Juan Capistrano, this charming 20-room boutique hotel is situated in an 80-year old Valencia orange grove in historic downtown San Juan Capistrano, California. With seven-layer bedding, imported English towels and French-milled soap, however, you know its probably not a cheap venue for a wedding. Two-day, weekend event packages begin at $12,000 and include use of the entire inn, all 20 guest rooms and suites, swimming pool, parlor and gardens. The event fee also includes a continental breakfast served each morning from 8-9:30 am as well as Sherry and homemade sweets served each afternoon. The Mission Inn can be reached at 1-866-234-0249. The hotel does not allow children under the age of 12. Pets of all ages are welcome, however. La Casa del Camino La Casa del Camino has several settings to choose from, including indoor or outdoor wedding settings. You can choose from the Rooftop Garden, a sprawling, sun-drenched terrace with breathtaking ocean and coastal views, the Italianate Courtyard, which is lushly landscaped, the Cress Room, an intimate meeting/reception room off the Italianate Courtyard, and the Catalina Room, a rooftop meeting/reception room with views of the Pacific Ocean. You can reach La Casa del Camino by calling 888-367-5232. America - Is it in Bible Prophecies and what can the USA Expect at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

By Michael Bresciani This is perhaps the most often asked question heard in connection with the second coming, at least for Americans. It a reasonable question for any North American to ask, but it is far from easy to answer. I would be remiss if I were to say that the Bible expressly names America in any passage from Genesis to Revelation. That some passages may refer to America is very possible but not provable and that is the very kind of conjecture I will not entertain. Naturally all the events surrounding the second coming of Christ are global or universal in nature so they necessarily include the United States. That the antichrist rules America for the same short period he rules the rest of the world is covered in Revelation 13:7. How he gets this powerful and fiercely independent nation to cow to his will is probably the more interesting question to try to answer. Some people believe that America will be forced to comply with antichrist after an invasion of our shores by a great Eurasian pact of nations. Mostly, the invasion idea stems from the vision of George Washington. In that vision it is said that Washington told this story to his aide who in turn told it to someone else just before he died at about the time of the civil war. Washington was told that three great calamities would befall the nation. Starting with the revolutionary war, following that the civil war and finally some future war where America would be invaded. My learned opinion of this vision is, who knows? That America would require force to he pushed into the rule of the antichrist is easy to believe but the force in question could be of a different nature. The remaining two views of how the United States is forced into the final pact of nations are probably more tenable. The antichrist does not act alone but he is aided by one the scripture refers to as the false prophet. Rev. 16:13. 19:20. 20:10 We know little about who this person is today, hut what is known about him is that he doesnt come from the same region, country and perhaps even the same hemisphere as the antichrist. The antichrist rises up from out of the sea according to Rev. 13:1. The false prophet rises up out of the land. Rev. 13:1 1-16. The antichrist rules from the revived Roman Empire or The European Union. Where the false prophet is stationed exactly is not known but some think it will be America. This of course is speculative, even though it is very possible. The false prophet will probably not be connected to any religion, but it is most likely he will be a political figure or a minister of science. What he is may he uncertain, but the influence he wields over the world is not. He is able to produce signs in the heavens and draw fire down from heaven at will. Whether he does this supernaturally through the aide of the devil or engages some star wars type pyrotechnical display is also not known. What is known is that his antics are very successful in persuading the people on earth to give antichrist both credence and rule. Some biblical scholars have thought that he could come from America and while this is not known for sure, it gives rise to the idea that America will he assuaged to join with antichrist by his direct influence. But again, while it is very possible, it is still only conjectural at this time. A third and perhaps a far more likely scenario is that America will undergo a collapse of all of its markets and financial institutions. Following a collapse, a desperate nation may seek to join with antichrists emerging economic systems that will be so successful throughout much of the rest of the world at that time. Not long ago I asked some people the question, what do you think would be the most disastrous thing that could happen to America and what would change its nature significantly, an all out invasion of our shores or a complete and pervasive financial collapse? The majority answered that it obviously would be the collapse of our economy. America is in the long stretch of the good times. We have many years between us and the dust bowl days and the stock market crash of twenty nine. World War Two is also far behind and the post war boom has become a post war glut. Any people that might decide to invade the shores of this powerful and fiercely proud nation would be in great peril. But take away what Americans really love, their affluence, money and material blessings and you could make them dance to just about any tune. This is the theorem that when applied to the question of how America joins the great evil new world order is the most believable, if not the most likely. If the compunction to have more, drives a few to fraud, robbery and murder, then what will the lack of almost all consumer goods do to this nation? If history teaches us anything, the answer to this question is not a pretty one. Rev Bresciani is the author of two popular Christian books, one on the second coming of Christ.
